Mr. Eugene C. McBurney, B.A., M.A., LL.B., LL.D., brings over 25 years of international investment banking experience, establishing him as a trusted advisor. McBurney has a notable history of leading landmark transactions in natural resources, demonstrating his capability to deliver strategic outcomes for his clients. He has done deals in 60 different countries.

Gene co-founded Griffiths McBurney & Partners in 1995, which later became GMP Securities, one of the most successful independent investment banks in Canada. GMP later sold most of its capital markets business to Stiefel Financial Corp. After stepping down from GMP, Gene became Chairman of the Emerging Markets Group at Canaccord Genuity Group Inc.

Prior to turning to investment banking, McBurney was a partner at a top-tier Canadian law firm.
